On December 20, 2022, at Le Méridien Saigon Hotel, a press conference officially announced Ngoc Chau – the reigning Miss Universe Vietnam – as Vietnam's representative for Miss Universe 2022. Notably, the national costume "Chieu Ca Mau" was worn by Ngoc Chau for the first time in front of the media and the audience. The press conference was solemnly organized before Ngoc Chau embarks on her journey to compete in Miss Universe 2022, scheduled to be held in January 2023 in the United States.
